NEET UG 2026 Cancelled: National Testing Agency has cancelled NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3, 2026. The decision was announced after inputs were examined by NTA for the NEET UG 2026 paper leak. In NEET 2026 latest news by NTA, the agency stated that the integrity of the NEET 2026 paper could not be maintained and therefore the exam has been cancelled to ensure transparency and fairness.
The agency clarified that the NEET UG 2026 exam will now be re-conducted and NEET UG 2026 new date will be announced soon. NTA also confirmed that no fresh registration will be required for the re-exam. Existing application data, candidature details, and selected exam centres from the May 2026 cycle will automatically be carried forward for the NEET 2026 reexam. In addition, fees already paid, will be refunded to the students and the exam will be re-conducted using NTA’s internal resources.

National Testing Agency with the approval of the Government of India, has decided to cancel NEET (UG) 2026 examination conducted on 3 May 2026. The board will conduct the re-exam on dates that will be notified separately.

- Click on PDF and check the exam date.

No, the NEET OMR sheet 2026 has not been released yet on the official website. Candidates can access their OMR response sheets by using the login link once released.
The responses marked on the OMR Sheet of NEET are scanned and uploaded on the official website of NTA. The responses marked are read and captured by the machines, which can sometimes lead to smudging of the responses. Therefore, there can be errors in the scanned copy of NEET OMR sheet. If a student finds any such error in their OMR sheet, they have the provision to challenge them. Candidates have to pay a processing fee of INR 200 per response challenged. The steps for challenging the OMR sheet of NEET are given below:
- Go to the official website of NTA NEET
- Login using the NEET application number and password or date of birth
- Click on “OMR Challenge”
- You will see the questions in sequential order
- Select Question (s) for which you wish to challenge the Recorded Response.
- Once you select any Question for Challenge, you will see three options under the column ‘Candidate’s Claim’.
- If you wish to challenge this option, you may use the Options given in the ‘Candidate’s Claim’ column.
- After clicking your desired option, for Physics / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2023, scroll down, ‘Submit’, and move to the next screen.
- You will see a screen displaying your challenges.
- Click on ‘Submit' and Pay Fee Finally’.
- Select Mode of Payment and Pay a processing fee of INR 200 for each question/grade challenged. Make payment through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/Paytm.
- After successful payment, download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt
The exact numbers of NEET 2026 exam centres will be announced by NTA along with the result details. It is expected that the total number of NEET 2025 exam centres will be around 5,000. In 2024, the number was 4,750.
NEET 2026 Re-Exam: Why NTA Will Conduct NEET Exam Again?
The NTA has decided to conduct the NEET Exam after many media reports claimed tha the NEET Exam Question Paper was leaked. Meanwhile, investigation by Rajasthan's Special Operations Group (SOG) revealed that around 400 questions were mentioned in one of the NEET guess paper for students, which was provided to them around 42 hours before the May 3 exam.
SOG Additional Director General Vishal Bansal confirmed that 120 of these questions from Biology and Chemistry sections, were same as provided in NEET 2026 question paper. Experts said that students who had correct answers could have easily secured 600 out of 720 marks.
