NTA Refuses to Call it NEET Paper Leak: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports has summoned NTA Chairperson Pradeep Kumar Joshi to ask about the paper leak and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education and on strategies to enhance students’ employability. But instead of NTA head, Abhishek Singh appeared on the summons.
It summoned the NTA chief on May 18 to present NTA’s case and point of view on the NEET paper leak and NTA actions against this and the AI impact on the NTA preparation.
As per the Media reports, “the National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh appeared before a parliamentary panel and refused to call it a paper leak”. Apart from the NTA chief, the Parliamentary Committee also summoned the Representatives from Anthropic India, Pratham, IIT Kanpur, Infosys and IIT Madras.
Instead of calling it a full paper leak, the NTA spokesperson told the Parliamentary Committee, he said that there were some questions which leaked. The representatives maintained that because the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating into the matter, the NTA will not officially call it a NEET paper leak until the CBI concludes its investigation and provides definitive confirmation.

The NTA has started the NEET Re-Exam Address and City of Examination Choice filling facility for the candidates. The last date to make these changes in the application is May 21.
The National Testing Agency released the NEW Dates for the NEET 2026 exam. The NEET 2026 exam held on May 3 was cancelled by the NTA. The RE-NEET exam date is June 21, 2026.
The candidates should note that the NTA conducted the NEET 2026 paper on May 3, but it was cancelled on May 12 due to the paper leak being reported at various centres in Rajasthan. Later the Union Education Minister called a press conference and confirmed that there was a paper leak and said that the CBI will investigate the NEET 2026 paper leak. But today, it was a huge U-turn from the NTA’s end as its representatives refused to call it a leak.
