NEET 2026 Latest News: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports has summoned National Testing Agency's Chairperson Pradeep Kumar Joshi and Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi for NEET 2026 paper leak row. Reportedly, the committee panel will review implementation of NTA reforms and examine the investigation into alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak.

As per media reports, parliamentary panel is seeking suggestions of top Education Ministry bureaucrats on the reform of National Testing Agency. The panel will also review the K Radhakrishnan Committee report on NTA reforms. This decision follows the recent NEET UG paper leak 2026 allegations and CBI arrest of a biology expert from the NTA paper-setting panel.

NEET UG 2026: What's the Case?

The controversy on NEET UG 2026 started when NTA cancelled the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam (Undergraduate) held on May 3. Right when students were waiting for NTA NEET 2026 results, the cancellation of examination turned out a surprise for 22.7 lakh students who applied for the examination.

No, the NEET OMR sheet 2026 has not been released yet on the official website. Candidates can access their OMR response sheets by using the login link once released.

Q:   If I opt to participate in second round of NEET UG counseling, will my allotted seat of first round be cancelled?
A: 

In case candidates are not allotted any seat in the second round of the NEET UG counselling, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will be retained. However, on up-gradation of a seat in the second round, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will automatically be cancelled and allotted to another candidate. Therefore, candidates are advised to fill in only higher choices or any other choice which they prefer over the earlier allotted seat, for second round.

Q:   When will NTA release NEET OMR Sheet 2026?
A: 

The NTA will release the NEET OMR sheet 2026 soon. Candidates will be able to download the OMR answer sheet using the application number and password.

In the wake of growing crises, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the NEET-UG re-examination is scheduled for June 21 and the revised admit card will be issued by June 14, 2026. Further, the education minister also confirmed that from NEET 2027 onwards, the exam will be conducted in a computer-based format.
