NEET 2026 Paper Leak SC Hearing: The Supreme Court of India expressed its sadness over the NEET 2026 paper leak controversy. A bench of Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe noted that the National Testing Agency has failed to learn from its past mistakes. SC has slammed NTA during a hearing on May 25, 2026, regarding a batch of petitions filed by doctors and medical students, including FAIMA. The Apex court has issued a formal notice to NTA demanding quick status reports and a government-appointed expert panel within three days.

During the hearing, the bench shared its disappointment over the cancellation of the NEET 2026 May 3 entrance test. The judges pointed out the major NEET paper leak crisis back in 2024. At that time, the Apex court chose not to cancel the exam but ordered strict reforms to conduct the NEET exam in the upcoming years.

"We are so sad, they (NTA) haven't learnt their lessons," Justice Narasimha remarked during the hearing. "We passed an order directing the constitution of a committee to give recommendations, which was accepted." He further added.Β

NTA NEET 2026 Paper Leak SC Hearing: Court Demands Answers by May 29

The Supreme Court of India has ordered NTA and the head of the reform panel to file official statements by Friday, May 29, 2026. The SC bench want to see what steps were taken to protect the exam system. The following submissions shall be done before May 29 deadline:

  • Affidavit from NTA: The agency have to show current status of its official monitoring committee.
  • Affidavit from Dr. K Radhakrishnan: Details of steps taken to implement the safety rules.
  • Notice to Solicitor General: Copies of all student petitions related to the NEET 2026 paper leak case.

Recomendation by High Level Panel

The Union Government created a team led by Dr. K Radhakrishnan following NEET 2024 paper leak case. The panel has been asked to check following security measures and submit their report:

  • Digital tracking for question papers
  • Secure transport lines for question papers and other test materials.Β 
  • Full CCTV footage at all exam centers
  • Stricter checks for every student
  • Better coordination between NTA and state governments
