NEET PG 2025 counselling delay has caused dissatisfaction among students waiting for MD/ MS admissions in session 2025. While students are waiting for counselling process to begin, delay in NEET PG 2025 counselling is due to pending seat matrix approval and Supreme Court hearing postponement.Β

NEET PG 2025 Counselling: Students of National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET-PG) are waiting for NEET PG 2025 counselling dates. The counselling process of NEET PG 2025 has already been delayed as per its usual schedule. Even though NEET PG 2025 result was announced on August 19, 2025, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is yet to announce NEET PG 2025 counselling dates at for All India Quota (AIQ) 50% MD, MS and DNB seats across India.Β 

Reportedly, MCC has asked state counselling bodies to put NEET PG counselling 2025 on hold for their respective states, as per TOI.Β 

Students Express Anxiety Over NEET PG 2025 Counselling Delay

Students are eagerly waiting for MD, MS and DNB admissions for session 2025 and asking When will NEET PG counselling dates 2025 be announced?. Students have shared their disappointment on social media platform 'X', highlighting that postponement in PG medical admissions will cause delay in academic session. Further, students have also mentioned that NEET PG 2025 counselling delay is causing mental exhaustion and anxiety for their future.Β

NEET PG Counselling 2025: Possible Reasons for DelayΒ 

The counselling process of NEET PG 2025 is being delayed for many reasons. Reportedly, officials of Tamil Nadu State Selection Committee have highlighted that NEET PG 2025 counselling delay is possibly due to two reasons.Β 

  • Firstly, NMC is yet to finalise seat matrix of new medical colleges and increase MD/ MS seats in existing colleges.Β 
  • Secondly, NMC has informed that delay in NEET PG counselling 2025 is also happening because of continuous postponement of SC hearing and ongoing battle between NBE and students.Β 

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu state has started TN NEET PG counselling 2025 for state quota reserved seats. However, further schedule will be provided once MCC begins the AIQ quota counselling process.Β 

In the meantime, MCC is expected to announce NEET PG 2025 counselling dates soon. Students will be able to check NEET PG counselling dates 2025 and round-wise schedule at mcc.nic.in. Students who have qualified NEET PG exam 2025 and scored over and above qualifying percentile will be eligible to appear for counselling process.Β

A:

No. Candidates don't need to visit any particular centre for registration or choice declaration. They need to have good internet conectivity for registration. Candidates can make registration as per their convenience with uninterrupted internet supply. It must be noted registration is mandatory to participate in NEET PG seat allotment process.

 

Q: Β  What fees have to be paid during online registration for NEET PG counselling?
A:

Candidates have to pay both non refundable and refundable fees during registration for NEET PG counselling. Refundable fees are security deposit. Check the various kinds of fees submitted for NEET PG counselling in the table given below:

Q: Β  If I will get seat in round-2 NEET PG counselling, will first round allotted seat get cancelled?
A:

Yes. If you will be allotted seat in round-2 NEET PG counselling, your round-1 allotted seat will be automatically get cancelled. In case you don't get allotted seat in round-2, then round-1 seat will not be cancelled. Candidates have to register online and declare preferences of choice for NEET PG counselling. It must be noted, MCC conducts counselling for allotment of 50% AIQ seats.
