NEET PG 2025 Counselling: Delhi HC dismisses PIL challenging decision of reduced cutoff
A PIL filed against NEET PG 2025 cutoff has been rejected by Delhi High Court. Plea had challenged decision of cutoff reduction, stating it will compromise patient safety. Currently, NEET 2025 counselling round-3 is underprocess for seat allotment. January 26 is deadline for round-3 registration.
NEET PG 2025 counselling: Delhi High Court has dismissed a PIL filed against NEET PG 2025 cut off reduction. PIL had challenged governmentβs decision to reduce NEET PG 2025 cutoff, stating it will compromise quality of doctors, affecting overall patient safety.Β
While rejecting plea by a bench, comprising Chief Justice DK Upadhayay and Justice Tejas Kariaa, the court questioned petitioners, saying will it be in public interest if seats would remain vacant. The court also said objective of NEET PG admission is not to judge competence of doctors but to build expertise as they are already MBBS doctors. Counsel representing respondent said decision to reduce cutoff was undertaken to fill vacant seat and make more students eligible for the same.
NEET PG 2025 cutoff reduced by NBE
NEET PG 2025 cutoff was reduced on January 13 as more than 18,000 were vacant seats after round 2 of NEET PG 2025 counselling. Cutoff was reduced for each category. The centre of controversy was reduced cutoff percentile for SC/ST category. Students questioned decision of 0 percentile or -40 score for SC/St category for NEET PG 2025 counselling.
Later, MCC announced NEET PG 2025 counselling dates and schedule for round-3 seat allotment. Registration for round-3 NEET PG 2025 counselling is underprocess. Deadline for registration is January 26, 2026. Seat allotment result for NEET PG 2025 round 3 will be announced on January 29, 2026.
