NEET PG 2025: J&K Doctors Face 2-Year Mandatory Service, ₹50 Lakh Fine for Default; Results Update
J&K govt has proposed NEET PG bond policy, two year mandatory service or ₹50 lakh penalty.
Jammu and Kashmir administration has proposed a new bond policy for NEET PG 2025 candidates, mandating two years of compulsory government service or a penalty of ₹50 lakh for those opting out. Draft proposal is currently under review, is expected to impact medical aspirants going for postgraduate seats in government colleges across J&K.
Proposed Bond Policy
Doctors admitted under state quota will have to sign a bond agreeing to serve in government hospitals for two years after completing their degrees. If candidates fail to fulfill this, they will have to pay a penalty of ₹50 lakh.
Proposal if implemented is likely to address shortage of specialist doctors in rural and underserved areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Impact on Medical Aspirants
This proposal has seen mixed reactions among medical aspirants. Some see it as a step towards improving healthcare access in remote regions, others argue that ₹50 lakh penalty will discourage students from choosing govt medical colleges in J&K. Medical associations are expected to present their views before final notification is issued.
Speculation is growing around NEET PG 2025 results. Candidates are waiting for results as exam was conducted earlier this month, RTI activist Dr. Vivek Pandey claimed that result might be declared soon. Supreme Court has directed reforms, including single shift exam and release of raw scores and answer keys.
