NEET PG 2025: J&K Doctors Face 2-Year Mandatory Service, ₹50 Lakh Fine for Default; Results Update

J&K govt has proposed NEET PG bond policy with 2-year mandatory service or ₹50 lakh penalty. NEET PG 2025 results expected soon; candidates await NBE update.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has proposed a new bond policy for NEET PG 2025 candidates, mandating two years of compulsory government service or a penalty of ₹50 lakh for those opting out. The draft proposal, currently under review, is expected to impact medical aspirants taking up postgraduate seats in government institutions across the Union Territory.
The Proposed Bond Policy
According to the proposal, doctors admitted to postgraduate medical courses under the state quota will be required to sign a bond agreeing to serve in government hospitals for two years after completing their degrees. If candidates fail to fulfill this service requirement, they will have to pay a penalty of ₹50 lakh.
As per the proposal, this move is aimed at addressing the shortage of specialist doctors in rural and underserved areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Similar bond policies are already in place in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, with varying service durations and penalty amounts.
Impact on Medical Aspirants
The policy has sparked mixed reactions among medical aspirants. While some see it as a step towards improving healthcare access in remote regions, others argue that ₹50 lakh penalty may discourage students from choosing government medical colleges in J&K. Medical associations are expected to present their views before the final notification is issued.
NEET PG 2025 Results Update
Meanwhile, speculation is growing around the NEET PG 2025 results. Candidates have been awaiting the results since the exam was conducted earlier this month, as RTI activist Dr. Vivek Pandey recently claimed that the NEET PG 2025 results might be declared soon. The Supreme Court has already directed reforms, including single-shift exams, release of raw scores and answer keys, and penalties for seat blocking, to ensure transparency in the process. Aspirants are keeping a close watch for official updates from the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
