NSDC International (NSDCI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Nursing Council (INC) to open several avenues for skill development in healthcare and allied sectors to augment the language and domain proficiency of aspiring candidates for overseas job opportunities.

NSDC International (NSDCI), a 100% subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the INC, a national regulatory body for nurses and nurse education in India, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) partnership aims to boost the mobility of aspiring candidates through their program in overseas markets. The partnership envisions building the capacities of medical professionals by enhancing skill standardization, improving language proficiency, and providing vocational training to Indian talent for addressing the shortage of employment-ready skilled workforce in foreign countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International said, “NSDC is at the forefront of strengthening the skilling ecosystem in India and we understand the urgent need for skilled health professionals in India and globally. With this, our partnership with the INC will play a critical role in addressing the challenges around the availability of skilled talent in healthcare sector and will create channels for skill harmonization, and training with the partner nations. This partnership will not only help bridge the skills gap but also promote knowledge-sharing and collaboration between academia and industry.”

Dr T Dileep Kumar, President INC said, “This unique partnership will certainly introduce new avenues for the Indian healthcare workforce to be employed globally. It will augment the shared vision of NSDC and Indian Nursing Council of advancing healthcare education & training for the talent in the healthcare sector and be gainfully accepted in destination countries.”

NSDC International will conduct diverse preparatory exams in diverse foreign languages, including English and German and healthcare technical test such as OSCE/NCLEX to build a robust foreign language learning environment, and develop knowledge exchange ecosystem, confidence, and communication skills among nurses. This will be achieved through strategic collaborations on different knowledge and capacity building activities for nurses, conducting joint program, workshops and awareness events, thereby, aid nurses in comprehending global healthcare standards and the employment market.
