Odisha: Adani Group to set up two medical colleges

Adani Group has sent a proposal to the Odisha government to set up two medical colleges in the state.

Indian multinational conglomerate Adani Group has sent a proposal to the state government's Health and Family Welfare Department for setting up two medical colleges under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. These colleges are proposed to be set up in Bhadrak and Raigad.

As per the report of News lead India, the Group has already started preliminary work.

“We propose to the Government of Odisha for setting up a medical college on PPP mode for the benefit of the public at large as well as to increase the medical seats in the state and to upgrade the medical care facilities,” reads the proposal. 

The Group has said that based on the MoU mutually accepted with the government, the entire work will be done by Adani Foundation under CSR activity of Adani Group.

DME Odisha extends the deadline for submission of deficiencies to Jan 25

DME Odisha has said that many medical colleges could not comply with the deficiencies pointed out for obtaining NOC, and the last date for submission the deadline is extended to January 25, 2023.

“In consideration of the fact that many institutions could not comply the deficiencies pointed out for obtaining NOC for opening of new institutions or renewal of NOC for the session 2022-23 for different courses; the last date for such submission of deficiencies/ compliances is further extended to 25.1.2023. The defaulter institutions are requested to submit their compliance on or before 25.01.2023 by 05.00 PM to their respective councils in their respective email id's for consideration,” reads the official notification.
