Official NEET PG 2025 answer key mere formality: Students say in Shiksha Poll
Students have said recently released NEET PG 2025 answer key was just a formality as it was not solving the very objective. NBE released NEET PG 2025 answer key on August 29 where only question ID, right answer and response of students were there. NBE had announced NEET PG 2025 result on August 19 before the official answer key.
Students Outcry over NEET PG 2025 answer key
Days passed since NEET PG 2025 answer key was released officially yet the controversy around the official answer key refuses to die. Students believe NEET PG 2025 answer key does not fulfill the real purpose, as question paper was not provided. In a Shiksha poll, majority of candidates termed the official answer key mere a formality. National board Of Examinations (NBE) had released answer key on August 29, 2025 where only question ID, correct answer, and response of candidates were provided.
NEET PG 2025 Answer Key: Shiksha Poll Analysis
Shiksha ran a poll on NEET PG 2025 answer key where students were requested to express their views on whether NBE’s NEET PG 2025 answer key was just a formality. Candidates were given 4 options to choose from. Majority of candidates (71%) opted for yes option, stating NBE should have given question paper along with answer key to calculate exact score. 18% candidates said NBE’s answer key was not useful at all. In the poll, 8% candidates chose no option, saying at least NBE took step for transparency. 3% candidates selected no option, saying at least NBE released response sheet for NEET PG 225.
NEET PG 2025 Answer Key: Petition in Supreme Court
On August 21, NBE released a notification stating that an answer key for NEET PG 2025 will be released citing Supreme Court’s order to ensure transparency in NEET PG admission process. Students welcomed the step as they believed question paper would be there along with answer key. Hours after the official release, another notification was released saying only question ID will be provided. “The question ID Numbers, correct answer key and responses marked shall be displayed as per Master set of Question Paper used for NEET-PG 2025,” the official release said.
Students felt cheated with the answer key as candidates can’t calculate exact score with only question ID. Later, students filed PIL in the Supreme Court which is to be heard on September 4, 2025.
"It frustrates the very object of publishing answer keys and responses, which is to enable candidates to cross-check their answers, raise objections against discrepancies, and ensure transparency in the evaluation of a high-stakes national examination." the petition reads.
NEET PG answer key helps candidates to predict tentative score in the exam. Candidates do get an idea whether they will get high or low rank in the exam. If a candidate get high score in the answer key, he/she can shortlist top colleges/institutes for admission. If the answer key gets him low score, candidates can look for other alternatives. In short, the answer key helps candidates to make forward planning about the future course of action related to their career.
Answer key can be challenged for certain exams where officially the answer key is released by exam conducting body. As NBE doesn't release the official answer key for NEET PG exam, challenging the answer key doesn't hold any merit. Mostly in offline exams, the answer key can be challenged after paying certain sum of money.
