Rajasthan CM Gehlot approves INR 56.08 crore for four medical colleges
The amount has been approved for the purchase of equipment and books for four medical colleges in Sriganganagar, Dholpur, Sirohi and Chittorgarh. The need for equipment and books has been determined by a committee constituted by the Rajasthan Medical Education Society (RajMES) as per the norms of the National Medical Science Commission (NMC).
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved INR 56.08 crore for the purchase of equipment and books for the medical colleges of Sriganganagar, Dholpur, Sirohi and Chittorgarh, stated an official statement.
“Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal of financial consent for the purchase of equipment and books for the medical colleges of Sriganganagar, Dholpur, Sirohi and Chittorgarh. INR 56.08 crore will be spent on this work,” the official statement said, as reported by The Print.
This amount was sanctioned after the Rajasthan Medical Education Society, RajMES reported the need for equipment and books as per the norms issued by the National Medical Commission.
After this budget, the purchase of furniture and books in the Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine and other departments in these four medical colleges would begin.
Also, various facilities will be available to the students even before the commencement of the next academic session and the aim of the state government to provide quality medical education will also be fulfilled, said the official statement.
Recently, the state medical education department and Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) have signed a pact for the purpose of installing solar rooftops in medical colleges.
A medical education department official said, "It will be a win-win situation for us as we do not have to spend and money on installation of the solar power plants. Also, we will need to pay almost half the amount per unit which we have been paying to power companies," as reported by TOI.
