MBBS fees in Tamil Nadu have been hiked for NRI and management quota seats in self-financing medical colleges, as announced by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research. However, fees for the government quota in 21 self-financing colleges will remain unchanged, ensuring affordability for quota‑based admissions.
Tamil Nadu MBBS Fee Hike 2025: The Directorate of Medical Education and Research has announced the Tamil Nadu MBBS revised fees list 2025 at the official website. Students seeking admission to the MBBS programme across Tamil Nadu state can check the latest MBBS course fees in Tamil Nadu state from the official website, i.e. tnmedicalselection.net.
A committee led by Justice R. Pongiappan has been formed to determine the fee structure for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) self-financing medical colleges in Tamil Nadu. The panel is responsible for recommending fair and revised medical education fees across private institutions.

This revised fee structure of Tamil Nadu MBBS admission 2025 will be followed for this academic year 2025-26. As per the notification, the expenditure statement submitted by the medical colleges was added into 20 major heads, namely salaries, electricity charges, telephone, internet, books, periodicals, stationery, development and research, affiliation fees, among others.
