The Medical and Health Department of Telangana has released guidelines for the transfer of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors working under the administrative control of the Director of Medical Education.

Telangana's Health Dept releases guidelines for Transfer of Medical Faculties

Telangana health department has allowed general transfers of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors working under the Director of Medical Education.

The state health minister Harish Rao Thanneeru tweeted, "In a good news to doctors at Government teaching hospitals. Medical & health department released guidelines for General transfers of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors working under the administrative control of Director of Medical Education."

As per the health department, the transfers shall be affected only to clear vacancies, faculties will have to give applications to DME requesting transfer and only employees who have completed two years of service in a station are eligible to transfer.

Only vacancies of 17 newly established medical colleges shall be displayed for exercising options during counselling and if applications seeking transfer are more than the vacancies in these 17 colleges then the openings of GMC Suryapet, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Siddipet and RIMS Adilabad may also be displayed.

In no case, the vacancies of Osmania Medical College, Gandhi Medical College, Kakatiya Medical College, and Government Medical College Nizamabad shall be displayed during counselling.

Medical grounds will be considered for the following diseases to places where facilities are available for treatment. The employees who applied for priority under medical grounds shall be given preference in the following order - Cancer, Neurosurgery, Kidney Transplantation, Liver Transplantation, Open heart surgery, and bone TB.

Once transfers are effected on personal or medical grounds, the HODs will get the truthfulness of the grounds verified.
