While the Central government remains focused on the holistic approach to medical practices, this year Ayush budget saw an increase of a total of INR 64.99 crores.

The central government has been focused on providing holistic treatment through the integration of modern medicine practices and alternative medicine practices. Post Covid-19 pandemic, the government has been pushing the Ayush Sector to make a mark in the health care sector and for this the government has taken many initiatives in this sector and also provided increased investments. Today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget 2024, in which the budget for the Ayush Sector is increased by a total of INR 64.99 crores.

The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda has been allocated INR 144.05 crores, which is less compared to last year, when the institute received INR 150.13 crores. National Commission for Homoeopathy has seen an increase in the allocation, this year it got INR 20 crore as compared to last year's allocation of INR 12.67 crore, National Commission For Indian System Of Medicine allocated INR 32.43 crore as compared to last year's INR 23.45 crores. Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences got INR 413.54 crore, last year, it was INR 379.50 crore, Central Council for Research in Homeopathy got INR 144.00 crore as against INR 145.00 crore last year. Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine allocated INR 228.05 crore as against the INR 173.30 crore received in last year's budget. All India Institute of Ayurveda gets INR 227.20 crore as compared to last year's INR 235.15 crore.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today presented the Union Budget 2024 in Parliament. Being ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, this is an interim budget. No changes were announced in the tax slabs in both the old and new regimes.
