UPDGME has released the UP NEET PG and MDS admission guidelines for the session 2025-26 for admission to postgraduate courses such as MD, MS, Diploma, DNB and MDS programmes in government and private medical colleges across the state. 

UP NEET PG MDS Admission Guidelines

The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Medical Education and Training (UPDGME) has issued admission guidelines for admission to postgraduate courses including MD, MS, Diploma, DNB and MDS programmes in government and private sector medical colleges, dental colleges and autonomous state medical colleges of the state for the academic year 2025-26. The authorities have notified several important information, such as online registration of candidates, state merit list and eligibility criteria at the official website i.e. dgme.up.gov.in. 

Candidates who qualify the NEET PG 2025 examination will be eligible for PG medical admissions across the state, while students with NEET MDS 2025 scores will be eligible for PG Dental admissions across the state. DGME will issue the UP NEET PG merit list 2025 for admission to PG medical courses, while the UP NEET MDS 2025 merit list will be made available for PG dental courses. 

UP PG Medical/ Dental Eligibility Criteria 

Students have to adhere to the following criteria in order to get admission to courses:  

  • Only applicants who have taken the NEET PG-2025 and NEET MDS-2025 exams and have been declared qualified will be eligible for counselling.
  • Only those candidates who finish their internship by March 31, 2025, will be able to participate in the NEET MDS 2025 counselling.
  • Only applicants who have completed their internships before July 31, 2025, will be eligible to participate in the NEET PG-2025 (MD/MS/Diploma/DNB) counselling.

Registration Fee

In order to participate in UP NEET PG counselling process 2025, students have to register online by paying the prescribed registration fees. INR 3,000 shall be paid for counselling for the first, second, third and stray round counselling process. The stray round counselling process of UP NEET PG 2025 needs fresh registration by each candidate. The registration fee of UP NEET PG counselling 2025 is non-refundable under any circumstances.

A:

No. Candidates who have passed MBBS from institutes like AMU, Aligarh, BHU, Varanasi and AIIMS Raebareli/Gorakhpur, are not elligible for government sate quota seats. However, they can seek admission in Private Medical & Dental Colleges.

Q:   What is the reservation criteria in UP NEET PG seat allotment?
A:

The reservation criteria for allotment of government sate quota seats have been given below:

  • S.C. -21%
  • S.T.-2%
  • O.B.C - 27%
  • EWS-10%
  • PwD-5%

It must be noted candidates who want to avail 5% PwD reservation have to submit disability certificate from designated disability centres.
