Uttarakhand NEET UG Counselling 2026: HNBUMU Cancels 15 MBBS Admissions Over Fake Certificates Ahead of Round 3

HNBUMU has cancelled the MBBS admission of 15 candidates after their certificates failed verification during the UK NEET UG round 3 counselling process, following a probe into fake certificates used for medical admission. Uttarakhand NEET Counselling 2026: Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University has cancelled the provisional MBBS admission of 15 candidates. This decision followed the failure of their domicile, category, and sub-category certificates during the reporting process. Reportedly, affected students applied for seats in five government medical colleges ahead of the Uttarakhand NEET UG 2026 counselling round 3 process. University officials confirmed these five candidates have no further claim to their allotted seats as the document verification process has not been completed.

UK NEET UG Counselling 2026: Affected Medical Colleges and Categories

The 15 impacted students were placed across institutions, including the following: 

• Government Medical College Haldwani
• Srinagar Medical Institute
• Government Medical College Haridwar
• Doon Medical College
• Government Medical College Almora. 

These admissions fell under reserved categories like OBC, SC, EWS, and orphan quotas. District magistrates have provided verification reports to the university, and further lists will be updated on the portal.

The decision to cancel admission of 15 candidates is part of an investigation involving fake freedom fighter certificates and subsequent Special Investigation Team arrests. State authorities have suspended two revenue sub-inspectors over verification negligence. The department noticed that the NEET UG 2026 third-round admissions will remain strictly provisional pending thorough document verification.
