NID DAT Mains 2022 - All you need to know about Studio Test and Personal Interview

Candidates shortlisted for the B.Des DAT Mains need to appear in a Studio Test. Those shortlisted for M.Des DAT Mains will have to appear in a Studio Test and Personal Interview.

 

The National Institute of Design (NID) will conduct the DAT Mains 2022 Mains in a hybrid mode. The Studio Test for the B.Des program will be conducted in offline mode at various cities across the country. The M.Des DAT Mains will comprise a Studio Test and Interview. The Studio Test will be conducted at NID campuses in an offline mode, while the Personal Interview will be conducted offline.

The results of DAT Prelims have been declared for both B.Des and M.Des. DAT Prelims result for B.Des was declared on April 29, while DAT Prelims result for M.Des was declared on April 23, 2022.

DAT 2022 Studio Test and Statement of Purpose (SoP)

Candidates who have been shortlisted for the Studio Test are required to upload a Statement of Purpose (SoP) and Portfolio.

When uploading the SoP and Portfolio, the candidate needs to follow the specified format only. 

NID DAT 2022 Final Merit List 

The National Institute of Design will release common final merit lists for Open, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories. The lists will be prepared by considering the weighted scores of:

  • DAT Mains and
    DAT Prelims

To be included in the common merit lists, the candidate needs to have qualified both DAT Mains and DAT Prelims.

In the case of overseas candidates, a separate merit list will be separate.

DAT Mains and DAT Prelims - Weightage 

The final merit list will be considered for the NID DAT 2022 seat allotment process. The National Institute of Design hasn’t yet revealed the weightage for the DAT Mains and DAT Prelims. The weightage for the two test components from the previous edition is given below for reference.
