
The innovation contest centred around the theme 'Innovations in Health: Need of an Era' aimed to encourage creativity, problem-solving skills among nursing students while promoting innovative solutions to overcome healthcare challenges.
K J Somaiya School & College of Nursing conducted the innovation contest in collaboration with the Trained Nurses Association of India. The contest revolved around the theme 'Innovations in Health: Need of an Era,' and highlighted the healthcare development by students across Maharashtra to tackle critical challenges in the sector.
The major goal of the Innovation Contest was to foster nursing students' creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while also promoting practical, inventive solutions to contemporary healthcare problems.
The contest aims to encourage a spirit of innovation in the profession of nursing by offering a venue for students to express and showcase their ideas, as well as empower future healthcare professionals to make important contributions to the evolution of Indian healthcare delivery.
Over 40 Projects Submitted
Nursing institutions across the state submitted over 40 projects, where winners were selected under the category B.Sc. Nursing, Professional Nursing, and General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM). Shreya Prasanthan, Tanisha Rawwn from P D Hinduja College were awarded the project Surakshit 24/7-Instant Safety anytime anywhere in the BSc Nursing category.
In the Professional Nursing category, Angela Kaushik and Vaishnavi Gawde from S L Raheja Hospital- A Fortis Associate, were recognised for the project “Mothers touch with water-filled gloves developmental supportive care for neonates”, aiming to maintain body temperature.
Meanwhile, in the GNM category, Alisha Fernandes, Bipasha Makar and Amal George from K J Somaiya School of Nursing received top honours for Auto Airway Blockage, which targeted blocking the air from passing through the veins.
