5,346 new trained graduate teachers (TGT) will be appointed in all government and municipal corporation schools of Delhi for classes 6 to 10.

Delhi government has announced appointment of 5,346 trained graduate teachers (TGTs) for Classes 6 to 10 in govt and municipal (MCD) schools across national capital.

A post on Delhi Chief Minister’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle stated that the move will help improve teaching standards and ensure students get focused academic guidance, in line with Viksit Delhi vision for quality education.

Delhi CM’s tweet reads: “5,346 new trained graduate teachers (TGT) will be appointed in all government and municipal corporation schools of Delhi for classes 6 to 10. This is an initiative towards building an education system where students will receive quality education, personalized guidance, and the opportunity to fully develop their potential.”

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s tweet added that this would help to upgrade school infrastructure and improve learning outcomes in schools.

The announcement comes after Delhi govt allocated Rs 100 crore in its 2025–26 Delhi Budget to establish 75 CM Shri Schools for better education facilities to children. Delhi is also facing shortage of teachers, which was highlighted by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in its 2024 report on staffing gaps in government schools.
