SSC Launches Public Disclosure of Marks of Non-Selected Candidates

SSC to release the details of non-recommended candidates to create a talent pool for wider employment opportunities across government-linked organisations. Check details here
SSC Recruitment Exams: The Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notice announcing the implementation of a disclosure Scheme aligned with the Government of India’s initiative to make candidate scores publicly available. This scheme is intended to create a centralised, accessible talent pool that can be used by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Autonomous Bodies, and other potential employers to identify qualified and employable candidates.
Objective of the SSC Disclosure Scheme
This initiative stems from the Department of Personnel and Training’s (DoPT) vision to utilise the candidates who clear competitive exams but do not make it to the final list of selected candidates. By making relevant details of these non-recommended candidates available publicly through SSC’s portal and a dedicated government website, the scheme seeks to:
- Provide a ready database of eligible candidates for various organisations.
- Enhance the employability of candidates who performed well but narrowly missed selection.
- Support transparent recruitment processes across government-affiliated entities.
What Details will be Disclosed?
The Commission will publish the following information of non-recommended candidates who appeared in the final stage of the examination, arranged in Roll Number order:
- Name of the candidate
- Father’s/Husband’s name
- Date of Birth
- Category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH/Minority)
- Gender
- Educational Qualifications
- Total marks obtained in the qualifying examination
- Ranking/merit position
- Complete postal address
- Email address
This data will be accessible on the SSC’s official website.
Opt-Out Provision for Candidates
The SSC has included an opt-out provision in the Disclosure Scheme. Candidates have the choice to withhold their personal information by opting out at the time of filling out their application form. Consequently, only those who explicitly subscribe to the scheme will have their details made publicly available.
SSC Disclosure Scheme Guidelines and Limitations
- The disclosed information will remain valid for a period of one year from the date of disclosure.
- The Disclosure Scheme applies only to selected competitive exams conducted by SSC. It will not cover Selection Posts Examinations.
- The scheme will come into effect starting from the results declared in November 2024 onwards.
- To maintain focus and ensure relevance, the number of non-recommended candidates whose information will be made public will be limited to twice the number of vacancies notified for the examination.
- User agencies interested in considering these candidates for employment must independently verify the details provided in the applications.
