SSC Restores Own-Scribe Facility for PwBD Candidates; Check Notice Here
SSC has reinstated its own scribe option for PwBD candidates for upcoming exams notified on or before December 31, 2025. Check notice pdf here
Staff Selection Commission has announced restoration of own scribe facility for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in all exams notified on or before December 31, 2025. This decision follows a clarification issued by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) on September 10, 2025, which allowed competitive public exams announced before the end of 2025 to continue under the existing system prevailing before DEPwD’s new guidelines dated August 1, 2025.
Accordingly, SSC has put on hold the provision of its earlier notice dated September 3, 2025, which had discontinued own scribe option and mandated that scribes be provided only by the Commission.
To maintain transparency, the restored ‘Own Scribe’ facility will now include the following mandatory conditions:
SSC Age Restriction
The scribe’s age must align with educational qualification required for respective post:
- Matric Level: Up to 20 years
- 10+2 Level: Up to 20 years
- Graduate Level: Up to 22 years
Aadhaar Authentication
All scribes must undergo mandatory Aadhaar-based authentication at exam centre. Failure to authenticate will make scribe ineligible. Further, candidate will need to use an SSC-provided scribe or forgo the facility.
The SSC JE 2025 exam for Paper 1 was conducted from December 3 to 6, 2025 and on December 13. The dates were released at ssc.gov.in.
