SSC Stenographer 2025 Exam Begins; 3.50 Lakh Candidates Appearing; Check Recent Update

Staff Selection Commission is conducting SSC Stenographer exam. Along with SSC, important update has also been released regarding information related to city of examination and SSC Stenographer 2025 admit card. According to the SSC, the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) for Stenographers Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ is being held from August 6 to 8, 2025. The exam will be held across 157 centres in 85 cities nationwide to facilitate candidates from different regions.
Total of over 3.50 lakh candidates have registered for SSC Stenographer recruitment exam 2025. SSC has made significant efforts to accommodate candidates’ preferences. Approximately 79% of the applicants have been allotted SSC Stenographer 2025 centres based on their first, second, or third preferred choices as filled in the online application form.
For the remaining candidates, centres have been allocated in nearby locations due to logistical constraints or limited availability. The Commission has ensured that the inconvenience is kept to a minimum. The average distance between the candidate’s address and the examination city for those allotted to alternate centres is about 220 kilometres.
Guidelines for Candidates Appearing for SSC Stenographer Exam 2025
Candidates are advised to follow the guidelines given below:
- Download their SSC Stenographer 2025 admit card from regional SSC websites well in advance.
- They must carefully check the exact SSC Steno exam date, shift timing, and address of exam centre.
- Plan travel arrangements accordingly, especially those allotted SSC Stenographer centres in neighbouring cities.
- Reach centre well before the reporting time to avoid last-minute hassles.

The Computer Based Test of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension.
