SSC JE Vacancies 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), through a notification issued on August 5, 2025, has raised the SSC JE 2025 vacancies from 1,340 to 1,731. The SSC JE 2025 vacancies span over Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Electrical & Mechanical disciplines, offering an opportunity for diploma/degree holders in engineering to join government organisations. As per the announced date, the SSC JE Tier 1 2025 exam will be conducted from October 27 to 31. Only those who have registered will be issued the SSC JE admit card and can appear for the recruitment exam.

A total of 1,731 vacancies have been announced for SSC JE 2025 across Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electrical & Mechanical) posts in over 10 major departments, including CPWD, BRO, MES, CWC and DGQA, with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) offering the highest number of 959 posts.
Candidates who clear the SSC JE exam are appointed as junior engineers in the departments of the Government of India to fulfill the technical projects. The exam is conducted for the students who have a Diploma degree in the Civil, Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
The SSC JE Paper 2 exam is conducted for 2 hours, However, for the scribe candidates it is conducted for 2 hours and 40 minutes. The paper 2 is conducted for 200 marks. The complete pattern of the exam has been given below:
- Paper 2 is an objective paper conducted in computer based mode
- Candidates have to attempt a question paper of 300 marks in 2 hours
- Paper 2 is a conventional type exam, candidates have to choose the subject from Part A- Civil & Structural Engineering, Part B- Electrical Engineering or Part C- Mechanical Engineering
- 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
