SSC Stenographer Skill Test Date

Staff Selection Commission has announced exam date for SSC Stenographer 2025 skill test. As mentioned in notice, Departmental candidates belonging to SSC eastern region are informed that SSC Stenographer skill test is tentatively scheduled in first week of March 2026. Candidates must note that SSC Steno skill test will be conducted on computers in English and Hindi at speeds of 80, 100, and 120 words per minute (WPM). 

Who Can Apply for SSC Stenographer 2025 Skill Test? 

Only departmental candidates who are eligible and wish to appear in SSC Typing or Stenographer Skill Test can apply. They must note that applications have to be sent through proper channel and verified by concerned department. Last date to complete SSC Stenographer skill test 2025 till January 16, 2026 by 6 PM. 

SSC Stenographer skill test application form will be available on official website of SSC (Eastern Region). Candidates must fill out SSC Stenographer application form carefully and get it verified by their department. The verified application should be forwarded to SSC (Eastern Region).

SSC Stenographer Skill Test Details

SSC stenography dictation for both English and Hindi will be conducted using Recorded Audio CDs only. For Hindi Skill Test, candidates can use Inscript or Remington keyboard layout. Once a keyboard layout is selected, it cannot be changed during exam. Candidates should choose their exam centre carefully while applying. Requests for change of centre will not be accepted after SSC application is submitted. Those working in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sikkim, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands should apply through SSC (Eastern Region). Those from other states should apply through their respective SSC Regional Offices.
