The following documents are required to fill IIT JAM application form 2026: 

• Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent's name, parent's mobile number, etc.)
• Eligibility degree details
• Address for communication (including PIN code)
• Choice of JAM examination cities
• College name and address with PIN code
• JAM Paper(s) Code
• Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format

• A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature

The IIT JAM 2026 exam will be conducted in a computer-based test mode for seven test papers at the undergraduate level. The examination will comprise:

1. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
2. Multiple Select Questions (MSQs)
3. Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.  

There is no specified age limit in the IIT JAM 2026 exam. All Indian students as well as students of Indian origin and foreign students in India can fill out the IIT JAM application form in online mode. However, students have to note that no students will be allowed to apply who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria; otherwise, the candidature of ineligible students can be cancelled at any stage during the IIT JAM 2026 registration process.

The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) for the academic session 2026 will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in approximately 116 cities in India. The entrance exam will take place on February 15, 2026, for students who are getting admission to, MSc, MTech Dual Degree, Joint MSc PhD programmes of Integrated PhD. 

After the submission of the registration has been completed successfully, candidates can check their application status on the JOAPS portal. The admit cards will be published on January 5, 2026, with the exam to take place on February 15, 2026. Students should download and keep their admit card, as they are required to present it for the exam.

Students who want to view the registration link must keep in mind that, first, students will need to go to the official IIT JAM website. If a candidate has provided the wrong category/ gender/ DoB or exam city in the IIT JAM registration 2026 form, he/ she will be allowed to change it by paying an additional fee of INR 300. In addition, students can also add or change a test paper in the already submitted form by paying an additional fee of INR 300 before 10th November 2025.

The IIT JAM exam 2026 will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format. Questions will be displayed in a random order in the test. There will be a total of 60 questions in the test with a total value of 100 marks. The test will consist of three sections: A, B and C.
