The IIT JAM registration fee payment last date 2026 has been extended till October 25, 2025. Applicants can pay IIT JAM application fee 2026 online at jam2026.iitb.ac.in. 

The IIT JAM registration process 2026, which is being managed by IIT Bombay, has attracted considerable interest from candidates planning to gain admission to MSc, MSc (Tech), MS (Research), and Integrated PhD programmes in IITs, IISc, NITs and other institutes that share results.The initial last date for registration was October 20, 2025, although now the officials have modified the last date for IIT JAM application fee 2026 is October 25, 2025, till midnight. Thus, the registered applicants can pay their fees on time through the portal JOAPS.

Those candidates who have filled out the IIT JAM 2026 application form and have been stopped from paying the fee on time can log in to their account at the JOAPS portal and pay the required fees via debit/credit card or net banking online. This extension allows everybody an opportunity to take the examination, without issue or excuses for timely payment of fees.

IIT JAM examination 2026 will be administered to test candidates on February 15, 2026. The date the admit cards will be available for candidates to download will be January 5, 2026. After this, there will be a window for correction of the application, anticipated to open during the last week of October 2025, allowing candidates to correct errors like exam city, test paper, or category.

Q:   How to select examination centres upon filling IIT JAM application form?
A:

JAM 2026 Examination will be conducted in eight zones. The names of these eight zones with the list of zone-wise Examination Cities are listen on JAM 2026 exam centres (Probable Examination cities of JAM 2026). Candidates must specify their first, second and third choice of cities at the time of applying for JAM 2026. When the choice of first city is made, then the zone gets determined and the candidates will be able to choose the second and third choice city only from the same zone.

In case, any city in the choices is not allotted due to operational reasons, alternate city will be allotted. Candidates are requested to regularly check JAM 2026 website for updates regarding examination cities, if any.

Q:   How to pay IIT JAM application fee?
A:

Candidates shall be able to make the payment using Net-banking, debit or credit card or UPI till October 12, 2025. It is recommended that applicants view their application by clicking on the "Save and View" button before starting any payment procedure. Once a candidate clicks the “Proceed for Payment” button, no other changes to the application form may be made and the candidate will be taken to the payment portal.

Q:   When is the last date for IIT JAM 2026 online registration form?
A:

The last date for filling up the online application form for MSc courses was October 20. The payment date has been extended till midnight of 25th October, 2025. You are requested to make the payment at the earliest and complete the process.Candidates qualifying in JAM 2026 are eligible to apply for admission to around 3000 seats in IITs for the academic year 2026-26. No additional evaluation process, such as suitability test or interview is required for admission to the programmes in Admitting Institutes under JAM 2026.

IIT JAM 2026 for the academic session 2026-2027 will be conducted by IIT Delhi, the examination conducting body on February 15,  2026. Aspirants who had already completed an undergraduate degree (BSc) or are currently studying in the final year of undergraduate programmes are eligible to apply for the exam.
