
SNU convocation included an honorary doctorate award to Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman of ISRO; Dr. Archana Sharma, Principal Staff Scientist at CERN, Geneva; and PK Sinha, Distinguished Civil Servant and Non-Executive Chairman of ICICI Bank.
Shiv Nadar University hosted its 11th convocation ceremony. The event was attended by over 3000 guests, including faculty, parents and the graduates. During the event, 910 students across UG, PG and PhD were conferred degrees, making it the University’s most extensive graduating batch to date. Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa and Former CEO of NITI Aayog, graced the event as the guest of honour. Further, the honorary doctorate degree was conferred to three individuals, namely Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman of ISRO; Dr. Archana Sharma, Principal Staff Scientist at CERN, Geneva; and PK Sinha, Distinguished Civil Servant and Non-Executive Chairman of ICICI Bank.
India’s G20 Sherpa and Former CEO of NITI Aayog addressed the audience and appreciated the batch, saying, “Students, you are graduating at a time which, to my mind, is one of the most transformational periods in the world's history. Never before in the world have we seen such a radical transformation in globalisation. Many of you will play a critical role in transforming India and making it an innovative India. And I am sure that all of you will shape the future and bring pride to this great university.”
The university's convocation included degree conferring to 910 students. Out of which 696 undergraduate, 152 postgraduate, and 62 PhD degrees were awarded across the School of Engineering, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Natural Sciences, and the School of Management and Entrepreneurship.
