After the arrest of two Haryana men who were caught cheating red-handed during the exam, VSSC cancelled the recruitment test held on August 20 for the posts of technician-B, draughtsman-B and radiographer-A.
The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has cancelled the ISRO Recruitment Test 2023 after the arrest of two Haryana men who were caught cheating red-handed during the exam.
The recruitment was exclusively held at exam centres in Kerala for hiring on the posts of Technical Staff recently. As per reports, two men at different exam centres were caught using unfair means during the examination by the Kerala police.
A case under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and various other provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act has been lodged against those arrested, the police said.
“They are being questioned presently. A case under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and various other provisions of the IPC and the Information Technology Act have been lodged against them. The two arrested persons will also be booked for impersonating the actual candidates," the officer was further reported as saying, as reported by ABP Live.
The police launched a full-fledged investigation into the incident. An investigating team will be sent to the state to collaborate with the state's police for the probe, the police had said earlier. As more than 400 candidates from Haryana had taken the test, there are suspicions over whether coaching centres may be involved.
