Tamil Nadu government launches mobile app for school inspection
Tamil Nadu government has launched a mobile application, Tamil Nadu Vagupparai Nokkin (TNVN), to help officials with their inspection work at schools.
Tamil Nadu Education Minister, K A Sengottaiyan has launched an application to help officials to do inspections of schools. The app has been named as the Tamil Nadu Vagupparai Nokkin (TNVN). Using this app block education officers and block resources teachers will be able to record their official visit details.
With the help of TNVN app, the officials who have gone for the inspection can directly notify the Tamil Nadu Education Department about the number of teachers, students and facilities available at a school campus.
During the launch of the app, K A Sengottaiyan said that earlier the app was introduced only for Chennai and Tiruvannamalai and now its reach has been extended to the entire state.
When asked about when the schools in the state will re-open he said, there has been no decision made regarding this so far and any decision will be taken only after the coronavirus situation in the country has subsided.
The state government has also directed schools against collecting fee for online classes. The Minister said that strict action will be taken against those schools that are charging fee for online classes. He also added that schools can conduct online classes without having to ask teachers and students to be present on the school premise.
Meanwhile, the state is gearing up to conduct Tamil Nadu 10th board examinations, scheduled to be held from June 15 to June 25. Earlier it was scheduled to be conducted from June 1 to June 12, as the nationwide coronavirus lockdown has been extended again until May 31.
Earlier, as per the Tamil Nadu 10th Date Sheet 2020, exams were initially supposed to be conducted from March 27, however, due to coronavirus outbreak, they were postponed.
