What to Know Before You Apply for IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam
Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts the IGNOU BEd Entrance test every year for candidates who wish to get admission in teaching & education course. Just like last year, the IGNOU BEd entrance exam application form is expected to be released in January. IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam
IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam Date: On January 23, 2025, Indira Gandhi National Open University begins the registration process by making the IGNOU BEd entrance exam application form live at https://ignou-bed.samarth.edu.in/. The process was continued till February, when the IGNOU BEd Entrance Test was scheduled on March 16. This year, we expect the IGNOU BEd Entrance Test will be conducted on March 15.
The IGNOU BEd Entrance Test is an all-India level entrance test conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University in offline mode every year. The duration of the IGNOU BEd course is two years. However, candidates are allowed to complete the course for a maximum duration of five years. The medium of instruction of the IGNOU BEd program is English and Hindi.

IGNOU BEd Eligibility Criteria 2026

a) at least 50% either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in theMaster’s Degree in Sciences, SST, Commerce, or Humanities. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto,

(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.

(ii) Candidates who have completed a NCTE-recognised teacher training programme through face-to-face mode.
The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Government.
- Reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules.
- A master’s Degree awarded without a first degree is not accepted for the purpose of Academic Studies in IGNOU.
