The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has officially released the eligibility criteria for MAH B.Ed CET 2026. Candidates seeking admission to the two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course must meet nationality, educational qualification, and candidature requirements as specified in the official information brochure.

The State CET Cell has released the MAH BEd CET 2026 eligibility criteria. Candidates who want to seek admission in a BEd college must fulfill all the requirements before applying.

Who Can Apply for the MAH BEd CET Exam? The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has officially issued the eligibility criteria for Maharashtra BEd CET 2026, the entrance examination conducted for admission to the two-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) course. Candidates can get admission in BEd colleges across the state, including government, aided, unaided, and minority. They must fulfill the prescribed nationality, educational qualification, and candidature conditions to be considered eligible.

Who is Eligible for Maharashtra BEd CET 2026?

As per the official notification, eligibility for MAH BEd CET depends on citizenship, academic qualification, subject specialization, and domicile or candidature status.

Nationality Requirement

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens
  • NRI, OCI, PIO, and Foreign National candidates are exempted from CET but can apply through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP)

Educational Qualification for Maharashtra State Candidates

Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized university with the required subject specialization and minimum marks. Eligible Subject Streams

Candidates must have studied at least one special or optional subject at the UG or PG level from the approved list, which includes:

  • Science and Mathematics
  • Social Sciences
  • Humanities (Languages)
  • Commerce
  • Engineering & Technology
  • Management, Computer Science, IT, Law, Agriculture
  • Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Medical Sciences, Banking & Insurance

Maharashtra State Candidature Categories

Applicants belonging to the Maharashtra quota must fall under one of the officially defined candidature types. The table below explains the classification.

Eligibility for OMS / All India Candidates

Candidates from outside Maharashtra are considered OMS (Outside Maharashtra State) or All India candidates.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree of minimum 3 years
  • Degree recognized by UGC / AIU
  • Minimum 55% marks for all categories
  • OMS candidates must apply under Open Category only

Eligibility for Final-Year Appearing Candidates

Candidates who are:

  • Appearing in final year of graduation or post-graduation
  • Awaiting results during the application year

are provisionally eligible, subject to submission of final mark sheets and degree certificates at the time of admission.

Eligibility for English Medium Colleges (ELCT)

Candidates aiming for English Medium BEd colleges must:

  • Appear for the English Language Content Test (ELCT) along with MAH BEd CET
  • Select the ELCT option during online application
  • Requests after submission are not permitted

Age Limit for Maharashtra BEd CET

  • No upper age limit has been prescribed for MAH BEd CET 2026

Reservation & Certificate Rules

Reserved category candidates from Maharashtra must submit:

  • Valid Caste Certificate
  • Caste Validity Certificate
  • Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (where applicable)
  • EWS Certificate (for EWS category)

Candidates without valid documents are advised to apply under the Open Category.

The MAH BEd CET registration process will continue until January 23. Candidates must check if they fulfil the requirements before completing the application form.
