Assam University Entrance on July 8

Assam University has started inviting applications for aspirants seeking admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various disciplines at the Silchar and Diphu campuses for the 2012-2013 session. The university offers the courses listed below:

Silchar campus:

• Master of Arts: Arabic, Bengali, English, Hindi, Manipuri, Linguistics, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy, Education, French
• Master of Science: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Life Science and Bioinformatics, Bio-Technology, Ecology and Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Microbiology
• Master of Mass Communication, Master of Commerce, Master of Library and Information Science
• Integrated Courses (10 semesters): Master of Computer Science, Master of Social Work, B.A.-LL.B (Honours), LLM Course (4 Semesters)
• Undergraduate (8 semesters) + Postgraduate (4 semesters) Course: Bachelor of Visual Arts + Master of Visual Arts
• B.Sc-B.Ed (8 semesters) course (subject to final approval from the Regional Office of NCTE, Bhubaneswar)
• Bachelor of Technology (8 semesters) courses: Information Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication. Admissions to B.Tech courses will be done through AIEEE central counseling
• Master of Technology (4 semesters) Courses: Information Technology, Agricultural Engineering
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (8 semesters)
• Master of Business Administration (4 semesters): Entrants seeking admission to this program must have cleared MAT conducted by the AIMA
• Master of Education (2 semesters)
• Diploma Courses: Advance Diploma/Certificate Courses in French (2 semesters), PG diploma in Information Technology (2 semesters)

 Additional courses

• PG Diploma (2 semesters): Bio-informatics, Marketing Management, Tea Management, Journalism, Biodiversity Conservation, Bamboo Cultivation and Resource Utilization
• Certificate Courses: Functional Sanskrit, Arabic Language
• Certificate/Diploma Course: Educational Planning and Management

Diphu campus:

• Master of Arts: Political Science, History, English, Assamese
• Master of Science: Life Science and Bioinformatics, Physics, Anthropology
• Master of Commerce: Commerce
• Diploma Course (2 semesters): PG diploma in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Eligibility requirements:

For undergraduate programs, students should have passed 10+2 examination in a relevant discipline with 50% marks from a recognized Board of examination. For postgraduate programs, applicants should own a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 50% marks from a recognized university.
