Mystory@Anand Agarwal

After appearing for a supplementary exam in 10th standard in Maths, I left my education. I completed my Class XIIth via correspondence. There are excuses: that I was working with my father at his shop and that was mandatory for me. But the main reason for not continuing my studies was that I was poor in academics. I filled a private form for graduation in B.Com and again failed. After this, I left education.

I joined college after a gap of three years. I was weak in studies from the very beginning and this had made my education suffer. I wanted to do something good in my life. So after three years, I was pretty much kick starting my education and this time, I chose BCA to do it.

I was very shy and never had any good friends. I was always eager to learn something new, I was very weak in theory but very strong in practical. I loved computer programming. My overall grades were poor but I was achieving first or second in practical and in programming. In fact, I was becoming popular in my class because of this. But all along, I was still shy and did not chat much with other students.

There was an option to choose a third subject in my graduation and I chose Maths with the motto: “Karenge to kuch dumdaar hi karenge warna nahi karenge”. I completed my graduation with some backs, mostly three times in Maths.

When I was in my final semester there was a major project in which many of my classmates, including the toppers were trying hard to join my group, this was in programming. I am thankful to my teachers who taught us in a great way. They gave us mostly practical knowledge of computer programming which is not the common thing in most other colleges. Some of us learnt the practical aspects happily and are benefitting hugely from this, others simply learnt theory to pass exams.

I don't think there was anything amiss in my institute. I was practically reborn after college as there was little hope for me before I went in for my graduation. Before I graduated, I had also completed a diploma in Computer Application and started working in a private firm at the sales counter as a cash handler. I want to tell everyone that, no matter which subject you are studying, get practical knowledge, think practically and this is what will make the difference.

Always be attached with God. I faced many ups and downs in my life. I didn't know what I will do eventually but God changed my way every time. After many breaks and setbacks, I am today working with joy and happiness in a field of my interest.
