University of Kerala PhD/M.Sc Engineering Entrance Exam

University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram will be conducting an entrance exam on October 12, 2013 for admission to full?time/part?time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)/Master of Science (M.Sc) in engineering program for the academic year 2013-14.

Eligibility:

• Aspirants must have obtained minimum 55% marks at the master’s degree examination
• Aspirants holding Bachelors’ degree holders in Engineering with minimum 55% marks are eligible to apply for the test for securing eligibility for admission to M.Sc (Engineering) by Research.   
• Aspirants who have appeared for master’s degree examination and whose result is still awaited. However, such candidates will be considered eligible for admission to research leading to Ph.D degree provided they pass the master’s degree examination with at least 55% marks and have been declared qualified in the test.

Exam pattern:

This three hour exam encompasses general aptitude questions worth 200 marks which includes the following:

• General knowledge (40 marks)
• Short answers (120 marks)
• An essay (40 marks)

Candidates are expected to have post graduate level knowledge of the subject and aptitude for research.
