CGPA calculation in Orissa University of Agriculture & technology is based on credit hours of the subject i.e more the credit hours more the weightage in gpa. Credit hours of individual subjects are assigned by University itself.

In general only few students fails in the university exams. But if someone do fail he/she needs to reappear in the supply exam that is conducted after some time of the regular exam.

Each year around 600-700 students are admitted to the UG course in the university. According to this there must be around 2500-3000 UG students in the university.

- Enjoy hostel life.
- Make yourself comfortable in hostel
- Get in touch with the subjects.
- Seek help from seniors wherever needed.

There are different rules of dress code for different colleges of the university. Most of the colleges have no boundations but for vet students apron is mandatory and there is a dress code students of basic sciences
For girls : Salwar & 3 pinned dhuppata.
For boys : Formals.
Although there aren't any hard & fast rules for dress codes.

No you can't get a direct admission in Orissa University of Agriculture & technology. There are entrance exams for all kind of courses that the university offers. UG exam is conducted in 24 cities in online mode.

College life at OUAT is great although some things need improvement.There are both pros & cons.
Positives :
- Nice campus.
- Fests around the year
- Interaction with local farmers
- Anti ragging policy so there is healthy interaction between juniors and seniors.
- Good infrastructure with air conditioning.
- Great annual fest.
- Great library.
- Well maintained sports complex.
Negatives :
- No cafeteria for students
- Average reasearch facilities.

For every UG course in OUAT the eligibility criteria is almost same i.e you need to have a minimum of 50% marks in your class 12th exams and afterwards there is an entrance exam of 200 marks in which you need to secure around 110 -130 marks to get shortlisted for BSC agriculture programme. The required cutoff however is around 65-70 marks for general category.

It constitutes 11 colleges and offers various degrees of higher education. It laid the foundation of agricultural studies in our country. The university provides several facilities and services to students, including a library, and administrative services. Currently it is ranked 11th in Top agricultural institutes of country & 137 in NIRF ranking of indian universities.
