Each participating institute releases its own ATMA cutoff. The ATMA cutoff determines if the student will be eligible to appear for the ATMA selection process which includes Group Discussion and Personal Interviews. The following are the various factors that determine the ATMA cutoff:
- Marking scheme
- The difficulty level of the exam
- Number of students appearing for the exam
- Seats offered by the participating institutes
- Previous years' cutoff trends
- Reservation policy
- Lowest and average marks scored by the student
