NIT Allahabad MCA admission is based on a valid score in the NIMCET exam. Students need to graduate in BSc or BCA with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics or BE/BTech with a minimum 60% aggregate in order to be eligible for admission. The institute shortlists and grants seats to candidates based on merit in the entrance test.

The University has a decent placement record for BTech. Looking at the past three years (2021 to 2023), a fluctuating trend was observed in the BTech placement rate.
