MNNIT Allahabad BTech admission is granted based on JEE Main score. The aspirants who meet the course-specific eligibility criteria have to register on the NTA website. Motilal Nehru Institute of Technology, Allahabad, accepts various national entrance exams such as JEE Main, CAT, MAT, NIMCET, GATE, UGC NET, and others. Aspirants are required to pass the respective entrance exam and participate in the counselling round for that programme to get a seat. After appearing in the exams, students must appear for the counselling to get admission at MNNIT.

NIT Allahabad offers admission to MSc specialisations on the basis of IIT JAM exam results, followed by CCMN counselling. NIT Allahabad CCMN cutoff has been released up to round 4. The cutoff was released category-wise for the All India category candidates. Among the General AI category, the closing ranks varied between 739 and 1691. The most competitive specialisation among the General AI category candidates turned out to be M.Sc. in Mathematics and Scientific Computing.

MNNIT Allahabad saw a fluctuating trend for admission to the BTech in Electrical Engineering course over three years for the OBC category students under the HS quota. Comparing the JoSAA Round 6 cutoff, the closing rank was 4710 in 2023; the cutoff rank saw a significant jump in 2024 with a cutoff closing at 19387. In 2025, the cutoff rank further decreased to 4845 for admission to BTech in Electrical Engineering. This pattern signifies that the competition for B.Tech in Electrical Engineering keeps fluctuating; however, in 2025 it was particularly hard for aspirants to avail admissions.
