The college has a specific placement cell that arranges on-campus interviews, professional development opportunities, and career counseling for the students. You must meet the following requirements in order to be admitted to Chandigarh's Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management:
- You need to have obtained a passing grade in 10+2 with English as a required subject from a recognised higher secondary board.
- You have to clear the NCHM Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMJEE) and achieve a high rank.
- You must participate in the NCHMCT's counseling session and choose IHM Chandigarh as your preferred institution

XAT 2024 exam registration will end on Nov 30, 2023 and the CAT 2023 exam will be held in November 26, 2023. Its admit card will be released on October 25, 2023. The seat intake for BBA, BCom (Computer Application), MCM, MBA, and PhD programmes is over 1,000. There are limited seats available hence apply early for admission to various courses at Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research.

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research is a good college. Admission to various programmes is based on merit and entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are CMAT, ATMA, CAT, CET, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CAT, and others. The competition is very high hence the candidates must prepare well for the entrance exams.
