In the QS rankings, Vrije Universiteit ranking is #194 in 2026. This course was ranked at #221 in 2025. This shows that in the QS rankings, VU University Amsterdam ranks among the Top 200 Universities in the world. For the Psychology subject, this university ranked at #45 in 2025.

VU University ranking in the QS world rankings is #194 in 2026. Whereas, in Times Higher Education rankings, it ranks at #176 in 2026. Also, in US News rankings for Global Universities, VU University ranks at #79.

To apply for Amsterdam Merit scholarship, students have to follow the steps given below: 

  • Submit the admissions application for the Uni of Amsterdam Master's courses
  • Then, receive the UvA student number
  • Next, fill out and submit the application form for Amsterdam Merit Scholarship. 
  • Documents that have to be submitted are CV, letter of motivation, id page of passport, financial documents, etc.

Amsterdam Merit Shcolarship is for the outstanding international students. The scholarship equals the tuition fees. The scholarship holders shall also receive their grant in monthly instalments. There is a scholarship deadline for this. The students who take admission to the specific course of Social Science, Law, Economics and Business, Science, and Social and Behavioural Sciences, etc.

Yes, students can pay their tuition fees in instalments at the UvA Holland. Students can request a payment arrangement via Studielink if they have difficulty paying their fees. As part of the arrangement, students would have to make sure to pay their dues on time. The regular debits will remain in effect. The payment arrangement will be considered null, if students fail to pay their fees on time.

This would mean students would be unable to log in to their UvAnetID and may face consequences related to enrolment.

It usually takes around 4 to 6 weeks for the university to process the application, after it has been submittted by the student. After this time, if accepted, students will receive their acceptance letter directly on the mail address they shared with the university. Indian students plannong to study at UvA have to pay somewhere between INR 14.7 Lakhs and INR 55 Lakhs per year in tuition costs. When it comes to the cost of living, usually a budget of INR 1.25 Lakhs and INR 1.6 Lakhs is needed. 

Combining both together means it costs around INR 27 Lakhs-INR 67 Lakhs without scholarships or financial help to study at UvA Amsterdam.
