For admission at ANU, portfolios of a student should be 8-10 pages, with good quality work that demonstrates the capability of the aspirant for the chosen domain. Portfolios can include sketches, art, paintings, photographs, illustrations, product ideas, app designs, garments, and working objects as demonstrations. Portfolios can be physical, digital or a combination of both.

Applicants do not need to have a portfolio to appear for ADEPT however, if they get selected to appear for a personal interview, they may be asked by the interviewer to show their portfolio.

The entire admission process for BDes for all majors at Anant is conducted online.
The candidates are evaluated in three different rounds for the admission process.
- For the first round, all candidates appear for the written part of Anant Design Entrance and Proficiency Test (ADEPT). This is a 90 minutes long 100 marks objective test with no which has three sections -

25 questions for two marks each
