Hi Gautam, These two are sufficient, and if you are good, then once you start your career, you automatically will learn and acquire knowledge and expertise in your primary domain and other supporting domains. But first, you need to be good in what you are studying now, as it is the foundation being laid, and a strong foundation always helps build what ever you want.

Hi Gautam,
Design, encapsulates everything. Design has become platform independent, whether traditional platforms or digital platforms. You should be a good designer first. Parameters for different platforms are different and you need to be well versed with them. Today, I could use/convert/transform my designs for web or magazine or posters or animations. Hope this answers your question.

You have chosen fields that are fast evolving and are likely to grow very fast in the coming decade. Both are available at Bachelor level so you can do a B. Des in either transportation design or Animation & gaming design. Transportation is a wider and better choice then only automobile design. Similarly VFX is a small subset of animation and gaming. So go for courses with wider scope and go for specialised universities only. Would offers both programs which you can check on its website.

Design has better scope than animation and has been around longer than animation. Good institutes like NID, NIFT, etc. Provide good placements with high packages.

Hello,
You may google the colleges who provides M.Sc in animation, what I can suggest you, if possible get into any animation/gaming studio and start on live projects, instead of going to do M.Sc. In animation. In India and in this field degrees does not matter, your actual work skills matters. Thank you.

Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. VIT University, Vellore is one of the top institutes. The college had good placement opportunities. For animation, you need creativity to get placed in top industries. There is a good infrastructure for the students who want a rich lifestyle and foreign type culture.
