Example a person may be interested in music, but that may not be adequate, if he thinks he can become a composer. Similarly, in your case, you have expressed interest in gaming and multimedia. But, you have expressed your abilities as a story writer. Animation can be defined as an art, as a technology, as an industry, etc. But essentially, it is one of the greatest story telling medium. Whether it is for films or cartoons or documentaries or advertisements or television serials, the core of animation lies in its story telling. So, if you are a good story writer, you must study Animation to be able to tell stories visually.

Game has three specialized areas. Game Art, Game Design and Game Programming. If you are good in drawing, and if you are also good in creative thinking, logical reasoning, and have good communication skills in expressing your ideas and concepts both orally and visually and you have a flair to learn latest and even futuristic technologies, the course you must choose is game design. And, not just game art. But, if you have this and you also have an ability to learn programming languages, then you must choose game design & development. If you are too particular to create games, then you should not join Animation course. You should get into Game design or Game Design & Development course. First of all it is not a course which determines the career prospects and salary. The nature of the industry and it's application in the modern world only results in career prospects if one chooses that industry. Similarly the skill set, qualification, communication, projects done as per industry standard and many other factors determine the salary of a fresher. If you want to pursue Animation as a career, be sure you are very confident about your creative potential. Commit yourself to put in 8-10 hours of studies combined with practise everyday for the next three years during your degree if you want your skills to become very good. Select the right college with extremely high experience in India teaching animation at a Full Time UG Degree level. Check whether you are able to get through their selection criterion like written test OR evaluation of your art/design portfolio. I hope you start understanding there is lot of research and analysis you must do first to evaluate whether you are right for animation and then only search for the right course and college.
