Yes, one can apply directly to Asian College of Engineering and Technology (ACET) in B.E./B.Tech course. It is mostly merit-based, given the mark in PCM in Class 12 with certain aggregate needs (like 45-50% in general). Diploma holders can also get lateral entry to the second year. There is a choice known as ACET; direct entry, which is an alternative to TNEA and most commonly taken by a management quota. Apply through their official site; it is good to reach admissions office first hand to know up to date requirements.

In order to have a chance of getting an admission to ASCOT, the applicants should have passed the 10+2 with Physics, chemistry and mathematics as the core subjects scoring at least 45% in the aggregate (40 percent in reserved categories) to be able to get a chance at admissions from the UG to the B.E/B.Tech courses. The Tamil Nadu Engineering admissions (TNEA) is the most common mode of admissions through Class 12th scores. In case of PG programs such as M.E. a Bachelor level degree relevant with passing score in TANCET or GATE is necessary.
