Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University offers more than 39 courses in various streams like Humanities and Science. Candidates must have the education qualification required for the course to be eligible for admission. For BA course aspirants, students should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. Candidate should have passed qualifying exam with a minimum of 40% to 60% for Honors programmes. This minimum aggregate is as per past years' data. Hence, is indicative.
The applicant must hold the qualifying examination mark sheet at the time of form filling and admission. These documents are required for verification purposes. The absence of the same can lead to application rejection.

Yes. Candidates should have done their BA (Hons) and not just a normal BA programme to be eligible for admission to PG courses. The academic eligibility criteria is as follows:
- Have cleared (not before 2019) or appeared for BA (Hons) examination in 2023 from any recognised University.
- Have appeared for BA (Hons) exam and should have their final results at the time of counselling and produce their original mark sheets/grade cards of all semester/annual examinations passed at the Bachelor’s level. Such candidates must fulfil the academic eligibility norms for their applied courses tabled below for admission

Candidates who are willing to take admission to a three year BA course at Barasat Government College must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for the course.
