Aspirants are shortlisted based on their qualifying exam scores and performance in the personal interview round. The university gives 50% weightage to qualifying exam score and other 50% to PI round to prepare the final merit list.

BA students must appear in a final examination at the end of each semester. This examination is conducted by Guwahati University and the passing percentage is 40%.
