Your chances of getting into an NIT depend on the previous year cutoff trends when you hold an OBC-NCL rank of 7059 in B.Plan for JEE Main. The cutoff ranks for B.Plan admissions in NIT Patna, NIT Raipur and NIT Bhopal under the OBC-NCL category during previous years have reached above 7000 during later rounds of counseling according to historical data. NIT Calicut and NIT Trichy along with other popular NITs maintain OBC-NCL category cutoffs between 3000–5000 ranks in the B.Plan programme of JEE Main. Some vacant seats become available during later counseling rounds thus offering you a chance to receive admission. Private universities together with state colleges have lower B.Plan cutoffs which makes them an ideal backup option.
