B.Sc Admission Process

1. Location: Chandigarh University is not located in Chandigarh as it name suggests and it is very common to be confused between PU and CU. CU is located in greater Mohali area towards Chandigarh- Ludhiana highway. It is about 45 mins away from main Chandigarh. One can easily get a bus or a cab from kharar which is the nearest bus stand 15 mins away from Uni in an auto. Nearest market is Kharar market where you can get almost all the basic necessities.
2. Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great of Chandigarh University. Campus is made in 200 acres. It has around 18 academic blocks including south campus. Food courts and small shops for refreshment is available around every academic block with a stationary shop . Basketball court and sports complex is situated for sports enthusiasts.
3. Faculty & course curriculum: Most of the faculty for engineering and sciences are PHD holders with industrial experience. Faculties are very helping and guide students well. Talking about course curriculum, it is followed by UGC guidelines and is same as in other institutions. They do provide Mandatory non graded subjects for overall development of a student. Along this there are a huge variety of open electives to choose from. Also depending upon the duration of course they segregate into students who want placements and those who do not want basically who go for higher education. for higher education exams they provide guidance and extra classes in evening.

I have written JET it is University entrance exam where I scored 7.0/10.0 and got admission. University has the best infrastructure. Well experienced faculty members with updated knowledge and practical applications. Fee Structure and Facilities:
Fee structure is bit expensive compared to other colleges but it's worth paying. Varies with the courses for commerce course it's between INR. 1 Lacs - INR. 1.8 Lacs per year. For Science, it is INR. 1 Lacs - INR. 2 Lacs per year. There will be admission fee around INR. 10 K - INR. 30K included along with the fee. Tuition fee will be around INR. 40 K - INR. 60 K Administrative fee INR. 20 K -30K. So, all together it'll cost INR. 1.5 Lacs - INR. 2 Lacs per year.

Hostel facilities are very good. There is free Wi-Fi, Good hygienic food for breakfast, lunch and dinner There is 24/7 water supply and electricity Good security There is Sharing and individual room choices. Sharing room with 2-4 would cost INR. 40 K - INR. 60K per year. And, individual or for two would cost 80K to 1lakh per year.

I think you have to strictly focus on yours B.Sc Microbiology instead of looking for some short term useful courses. Because these courses can distract you from the original goal. B.Sc. Microbiology is a broad discipline that involves the study of the biology of bacteria, viruses, protozoa and fungi. The main focus of the course is the pathogenic potential of the organisms that cause disease in man. The course also covers aspects of the biochemistry, physiology and genetics of microorganisms. So here are lot more things for learning and innovation. Microbiologists are in demand in medical research, quality control, and the biotechnology industry. Many such graduates secure jobs as researchers working in universities, pharmaceutical and bio Science companies and institutes. Successful graduates of the course also progress into laboratory-based careers in clinical or technical roles which do not involve research. The transferable skills one develops also equip one well for a wide range of careers outside the lab. M.Sc. And Ph.D. are the other options can be set as the target for higher studies.
