IUST Awantipora BSc admission is primarily entrance-based. The university accepts CUET UG scores to provide admission to candidates who fulfil the preset eligibility crietria. Only the candidates who have completed Class 12 with the minimum required aggregate and relevant subjects are eligible for admission. Admission to BSc in Nursing is based on the norms of J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE). Candidates who do not have a valid exam score can apply for admission against vacant seats (if any). However, preference is given to candidates with a valid entrance exam score.

Dyal Singh College is part of Delhi University, so admission is often competitive. Admission is based on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scores.
