Candidates willing to pursue a BSc (Nursing) at IMS BHU must clear the required NEET UG cut-off depending on their reservation category. The cut-off is released in the form of the closing ranks at which the admission is granted during various rounds of counselling. Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU BSc admission is subject to clearing the NEET UG cut-off prescribed for the particular admission year. The cut-off also varies depending on the caste/reservation category of the applicants. Based on the previous year's cut-off,  the NEET UG rank at which BSc admission was granted to General category candidates is around 1.06 Lacs (for the last round). In 2023, the closing rank for the General category candidates was 27,931.

Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU offers 100 seats for its BSc (Nursing) programme. The course seats are filled by the college based on the preset eligibility and selection criteria. Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU, offers a four-year BSc in Nursing in the full-time mode. To secure a BSc seat at the institute, candidates must appear for the accepted entrance exam, i.e. NEET UG. To be eligible to sit for the exam, candidates must meet the requirements listed below:

• Candidates must have completed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB)
• Candidates must have secured at least 50% in Class 12 (For the General category)
• Candidates must be at least 17 years old, with a maximum age of 25 years

Candidates seeking BSc admission at IMS BHU (Varanasi) can start the admission process by checking their eligibility. Those who fulfil the preset eligibility criteria can register for NEET UG, the entrance exam accepted for BSc admission at the institute. Shortlisted candidates are allotted IMS BHU BSc seats through the counselling following NEET UG. The counselling is based on the candidates' performance in the entrance exam. NEET UG is the accepted entrance exam for BSc admission at IMS BHU. The exam is conducted once every year by the National Testing Agency. The exam dates vary yearly. It is usually conducted in May.
